Manufacturer: Knollstudio
Designer: Mies van der Rohe
This is an original Knollstudio piece.
Originally known as the Feder-Sessel, the Tugendhat chair was renamed after five of the designs were installed in the renowned Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czechoslovakia, a building designed and furnished by Mies van der Rohe in 1930. The Chair is a beautiful nod to Knoll’s architectural heritage. While inspired by Knoll’s history, the Tugendhat chair offers a modern day take on the design and is perfect for any space with a wide array of upholstery options.
Stucture: Steel structure, chrome finished or epoxy painted onyx ultra matte with black plastic glides.
Padding: In flexible polyurethane at varied density, with polyester wadding pre-covering.
Upholstery: Removable upholstery in fabric or leather.
Note: The cushion suspension straps and ties are made of leather. For fabric covered cushions the colour of the straps and ties must be selected from the four colours available. For leather covered cushions the colour of the straps and ties will be the same as the seats.
Note: The cantilevered structure of the Tugendhat Chair has a certain elasticity that provides extra comfort and support. This flexibility of the structure may result in a slight variation in the total height between one chair and another.
Note: The KnollStudio logo and the signature of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe are stamped into the base of the chair.
Dimensions: Width: 71cm x Depth: 72cm x Height: 84cm (Seat Height: 43cm)
