Designed by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Palissade is a collection of outdoor furniture in powder coated or hot galvanised steel. United by a common principle of symmetrical geometry, the Palissade collection is engineered to reproduce the same visual simplicity and core strength throughout.
Designed in colour and form to integrate effortlessly into a natural landscape or urban setting, Palissade is intended to be used over a longer period of time and become more beautiful over the years. The collection is suited to a wide variety of environments, from cafés and restaurants to gardens, terraces and balconies.
The result of an ongoing collaboration between HAY and the Bouroullec brothers, the Palissade Park Bench and Park Dining Bench are part of the iconic Palissade outdoor furniture series. The benches were created from the desire to offer a flexible, modular seating solution for larger outdoor spaces, whilst retaining the same symmetrical idiom and visual simplicity as the rest of the series.
Combining multiple benches together gives users the opportunity to extend the available seating space and form unique configurations to suit specific functional and aesthetic requirements. Designed in colour and form to integrate effortlessly into a natural landscape or urban setting, the collection suits a wide variety of larger outdoor environments such as gardens, parks and public spaces.
Finishes
Powder coated steel with a two-component coating; a primer and an outdoor powder coating which provides a barrier to corrosive elements, making it suitable for outdoor use. The Hot Galvanised has a rough industrial finish.

Hay Palissade Cord Collection
The Palissade Cord collection brings a softer expression to Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec’s iconic Palissade outdoor range of furniture. Retaining the same design language as the original Palissade, recycled polyester cord is handwoven onto a powder coated steel frame, giving this series a more relaxed appearance. Comprising a dining armchair, dining bench, lounge chair, lounge sofa, and chaise longue in colours matching the existing Palissade variants, this collection is conducive for relaxing, eating, and socialising in a wide range of outside spaces.
Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec the Paris-based design brothers from Brittany have been working together since 1998. Ronan is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio.They have transformed the design industry and offered new perspectives of materiality and purpose. For HAY, they have designed the Palissade Collection, Balcony Collection, CPH Collection, Can Collection, Passerelle Collection, Elementaire Chair and Pier System.
